Environmental protection is a fundamental corporate strategy of the Bosch Group. The quality of our products, their efficiency and environmental safety are all of equal importance to us and all environmental protection legislation and regulations are strictly observed. In both product development and manufacturing, we are working on minimizing the environmental impact of our activities and continuously improving environmental protection.
For this purpose, we have introduced an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 at all 242 locations worldwide. Regular audits ensure that the environmental protection measures implemented at the Bosch locations are effective and help to achieve the defined targets: By 2020, we aim to reduce our CO₂ emissions (relative to added-value) by 35 percent compared to 2007.
Ingeniously packaged, efficiently transported
We participate in the recycling programmes of the countries in which our products are sold to ensure optimum recycling. Our packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled.
We save resources on transport too. We pack our hot water heaters, for example, so efficiently that we can now transport even more products at the same time. This not only reduces packaging material, it also saves on fuel and thus cuts CO2 emissions.
For us waste isn’t just rubbish
Used appliances contain valuable materials that should be recycled. The various assemblies can be easily dismantled and synthetic materials are marked accordingly. Assemblies can therefore be sorted by composition and passed on for recycling or disposal. https://www.packagingcovenant.org.au/
A Bosch continuous flow hot water system only heats the water you need, when you need it. So you will never run out of hot water again and save on running costs along the way. Continuous flow hot water systems are compact in size releasing space compared to traditional storage hot water units and you can precisely adjust the temperature with a controller for ultimate comfort and safety.
A heat pump can reduce energy use by up to 65% when compared to a conventional electric storage system benefiting both the environment and the user. A heat pump water heater takes heat from the surrounding air and transfers the heat into the stored water. It only consumes the electricity required to operate the components needed to transfer the heat. The energy requirements of these components are 3 – 4 times lower than the energy it recovers from the air so it consumes approximately 1 kWh of electricity to supply more than 3 kWh for water heating. The electric back up element is only used when the air temperature is outside of the appliance operating range.
Bosch Hydronic Heating Boilers use condensing technology to recover and reuse the waste heat which is would otherwise be expelled through the flue system of a standard boiler boiler. This condensing technology makes the Bosch Condensing Boiler range more than 90% energy efficient.
